I have slowly over the last few years become disillusioned with top flight English football. I’ll spare you the details, but I am pretty sure that they have been recounted by many other football supporters over the last decade or so.
I have been an Arsenal fan for many years and found travelling to new grounds an exciting part of the match day experience.
I spoke with some groundhoppers, started following some on Twitter and started to get interested in their tales.
At the start of the 2011 / 2012 season I decided to attend a Game in the Extra Preliminary Round of the FA Cup and shortly afterwards I was hooked.
You’ll probably never catch me going to 4 games a week, my other commitments see to that, but when I can I’ll try to blog about my experiences.
Thanks for reading.
Just to advise you that the Coleshill Town v Pilkington XXX game has had to be moved to the Monday night (30th) at short notice. Found out this afternoon from our club secretary at The Pilks.
Thanks Nathan. My plan to get to the Pilkington XXX v Solihull game last night was foiled. Was this their last home pre-season friendly?
Yes, our next home game is in the league on Weds 8th v Racing Club Warwick, then home to Atherstone in the FA cup extra prelim round on Sat 11th. We also have a pre season fixture Thursday coming up against Travellers at Northfield Town’s ground, 7pm kick off.
Thanks for the tip-off. Will endeavour to get to one of those!
